Company Profile Industry: International tool distributor (tool supply catalog company) consisting of a parent company plus seven subsidiaries Revenue: $50 million Business Situation Our client - who relies heavily on the Internet to keep their varied business entities thriving - needed to revamp their web presence and create a dynamic website to serve their retail customers. The platform called for a .NET infrastructure but the client didn't have the requisite .NET expertise on staff. In addition, the work needed to be completed in just four weeks for an important sales convention. Robert Half Technology partnered with the client to complete the project. This included reviewing and modifying the specs, and re-engineering, testing and deploying the website - all within the very aggressive timeline. Project Scope After the client determined that a significant amount of re-work was necessary to make the website completely functional, they called in Robert Half Technology. We provided them with two highly qualified consultants - a project coordinator responsible for analyzing the project and determining how to meet the client's requirements, and a .NET a programmer who did the majority of the coding and executed the plan. After approximately two weeks, the client's needs had been thoroughly analyzed and the appropriate plan was laid out. At this time, the project coordinator recognized that he was no longer needed and advised the client that the programmer could successfully complete the project alone. In the following two weeks the Robert Half Technology programmer wrote the code and worked with our client to test and deploy the site. The project was completed using VB.NET, ASP NET and SQL Server 2000 - and was finished on time and on budget. Client's Return on Investment Robert Half Technology helped our client build a more efficient and cost-effective way to process orders and create marketing materials. Customers now automatically get estimates up front and web orders come directly into the company - saving our client both time and money. The Robert Half Technology team provided a detailed spec package to enable the creation of a turnkey approach for future applications. The client had never used Robert Half Technology before the .NET project, but was so impressed that they have called us back for two additional high-priority assignments. In addition, a Robert Half Technology network administrator comes in once a week, per the client's request, to provide guidance and maintenance, while the Account Representative stays in regular contact to ensure the client's continued satisfaction. |
